Mountains, sea, valley, the South-Link — Taitung's sights are often a mountain apart. A big tour bus ties your hands; a 6–9 seat chartered car with a local driver-guide can take the tribal back roads, climb the Luye Highland at 4am for the balloons, and sit you down to eat in a private kitchen.

Three routes
Rift Valley Line
The rice waves of Chishang, Brown Boulevard, a slow ride through Guanshan, Luye red oolong — the valley's slowness, just right for a day.
Coast Line
Sanxiantai's arched sea bridge, the strange rocks of Xiaoyeliu, billfish at Chenggong harbour — the East Coast's rock formations and seafood.
Jialulan Recreation Area is closed for renovation until 2026/12/31; this route uses Sanxiantai and Xiaoyeliu instead.
South-Link & Tribes Line
Duoliang Station, Jinlun's Paiwan hot spring, Luanshan's Bunun — into Taitung's deepest cultural landscape.
