Getting Around
Taitung's sights are spread out — leave it to a local driver-guide
Mountains, sea, valley, the South-Link — Taitung's sights are often a mountain apart. A big tour bus ties your hands; a 6–9 seat chartered car with a local driver-guide can take the tribal back roads, climb the Luye Highland at 4am for the balloons, and sit you down to eat in a private kitchen.

Three routes

Rift Valley Line
The rice waves of Chishang, Brown Boulevard, a slow ride through Guanshan, Luye red oolong — the valley's slowness, just right for a day.

Coast Line
Sanxiantai's offshore islets, the strange rocks of Xiaoyeliu, billfish at Chenggong harbour — the East Coast's rock formations and seafood.
Jialulan Recreation Area is closed for renovation until 2026/12/31; Sanxiantai's eight-arch bridge is closed until end of 2027 (not walkable — viewed from the mainland shore).

South-Link & Tribes Line
Duoliang Station, Jinlun's Paiwan hot spring, Luanshan's Bunun — into Taitung's deepest cultural landscape.
Chartered car — common questions
How much does a chartered car cost per day in Taitung?
It depends on the route, vehicle, group size and number of days — there's no flat rate. A 6–9 seat day charter is usually better value per person than you'd expect, especially in Taitung where the sights are spread out and buses are infrequent. Message us on LINE with your plan and we'll give you a clear, honest quote — no padding.
Can the itinerary be customised?
Yes — that's the whole point of a charter. Easy on the kids, gentle for older travellers, chasing the light for photography, or going deep into tribal culture: tell us the version you want and your local driver-guide will pace it for you.
How many people make a charter worth it?
We run 6–9 seat vehicles, from two people to three generations. More people means a lower cost per person; but even for two, skipping the unfamiliar mountain roads, the parking and the bus timetables is worth it.
What if the weather is bad, or there's a typhoon?
Taitung's typhoon season is July–September, with frequent afternoon storms. The big advantage of a charter is flexibility — we switch you to indoor or hot-spring backups on the fly, with safety always before the itinerary. For typhoon warnings and other force majeure, we'll arrange a reschedule.
Is it a driver or a driver-guide? What's the difference?
We're driver-guides — locals who live in Taitung and both drive and tell the story: which spot has the best light and when, which roads are under repair, where the food only locals know is. Not just dropping you at a viewpoint.
Can you arrange accommodation too?
Yes. We work with the Luminous Hot Spring Resort (Luye, 11.3 hectares, in-room hot springs) and can match rooms to your budget and needs. Message us on LINE and we'll line up the car, the stay and the itinerary together.
